Baking Spirits Bright 2022

The Winner

Chocolate Peppermint Sandwich Cookie

Michele Stutzman, Ravenna – Wedgewood

About the Competition

This year 12 contestants and, coincidentally, 12 judges, participated in our annual holiday cookie contest; each cookie received a score from a participating judge, meaning every cookie was independently scored 12 times.

The scoring was weighted to favor Taste and Appearance, with a maximum of 10 points each. A simple and divine chocolate chip cookie won the hearts of many of the judges but didn’t bubble to the top because of its lack of festivity. Tough cookie decisions had to be made. Every entry was truly divine, and I’m so very grateful for the enthusiastic, energetic, and “all-in” competitive spirit of our 12 contestants. Every participant deserves star baker, but there is only one 2022 Holiday Signature.
