Purist formula — question: 3 grams starter per loaf?

I took a break from baking the Purist.  I just downloaded the  most recent formula and assume there must be an error.  It calls for 3 grams of starter.  I’m also wanting to try mixing by hand. I’ve used a Hobart mixer in the past to do 8 loaf batches, and want to try smaller scale — in part to share the process with others who want to become bakers.

FYI the formulas I downloaded in the past had more like 16-20 g of starter, which also sounds like so little!
