        One of our bakers Rosemary Vazeux has been doing more reading on her KitchenAid and models vary, I’m trying to create a table with all the advice. But I did find one reference for the Artisan that suggests level 2 only, no higher and no lower for bread mixing. You will still need to give the machine a break but it is possible that level 1 is not helping and might be tiring the engine faster.

          I only mix 2 loaves (of the new Classic formula, which is great!) at a time in my ancient 4 qt KA but it still gets hot, even after following the good “Be Kind to Your KA” advice. I put an ice pack over the top and that seems to help.
