NaertParticipant Hi all – I recently learned that KitchenAid makes two styles of dough hook – a C-shape and a spiral. The spiral doesn’t have a flange at the top. The C-shape does. The nice folks at Ajax Appliance repair (where my 6 quart KA is getting fixed) told me the flange can help with “dough creep”. I found a solution that works pretty well. Using your fingers apply some olive oil to the top of the hook. The dough will not be able grab or to climb up the hook. It works great.
