Community Loaves Essentials

We proudly source freshly milled local flours. These exceptional flours are offered to our volunteer bakers at a discount to retail pricing. We hope you love the quality and nutrition of these premium flours as much as we do.

The following “ESSENTIAL” items are used in our signature Community Loaves formulas. For our Washington and Oregon bakers each formula uses equal parts of two different flours: a High Extraction T85 Bread Flour, Trailblazer from Cairnspring Mills, and Fairhaven Mill’s Organic Whole Grain Fine Bread Flour.
For our Idaho bakers we recommend using a High Extraction T120 Bread Flour from Hillside Grain and for our California bakers we recommend Central Milling's T110 bread flour. Find more information and your regional formula on the formula page!

First Timers: We suggest ordering 10 lbs of each flour plus yeast or sourdough starter if you like and, of course, the signature packaging for your beautiful loaves.
