About Our Speaker: Merri has a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics, Master of Science in Sports Nutrition, and a PhD from Washington State University Breadlab that focused on plant breeding, sustainable food systems, and equitable nutrient availability. Merri has been a registered dietitian since 2012 specializing in sport nutrition and eating disorder treatment. She is currently full-time faculty in Nutrition at South Seattle College where she teaches the suite of nutrition and health courses including Nutrition 101, Health and Wellness, and Global Health. She has a strong interest in making whole grain food products more accessible in our community and cultivating hands-on learning experiences for students.
