Here’s what Katherine said over in a thread when someone asked about Flour Truck deliveries in August:

We will be taking the month of August off – a pause on bread donations, flour packing and delivery.

I went to register a donation today, for the 2nd Sunday of August— the 14th—but the website said the next donation day was in September. Did I miss a schedule change while out of town?

          Holly,

I just realized that my response to you this morning looks like it came from Annette. I’m deleting that. I was impersonating her trying to solve a problem with our website. But the answer I provided still holds. You can take your donation to whatever hub is convenient to you, typically your home hub, but if your out and about, where ever works for you. When you get there, you want to complete the check-in sheet that will be by the bins or boxes for the bread. Pretty easy. The advance check-in is beneficial, but we do forget sometimes!

            Hi Holly,

Congratulations! Four loaves for your first donation is terrific and we are so glad to have you as part of the CL team. And–great job posting on the forums. I’m not a hub coordinator so will defer to their comments but wanted to send a quick reply so you weren’t sitting in your kitchen wondering what to do with the bread. 🙂 While registration for donation does close Saturday evening, forgetting to log your bread now and then (or as a new person not knowing the deadline) happens–so no worries. My experience is that you can still donate the fresh loaves and the Hub coordinator can adjust the numbers after the fact. You’ve done the hard part which is the baking–especially figuring it out for the first time. In my case when I forgot to log my bread,  I let the coordinator know and then when I dropped off my bread, I indicated on the sign in sheet that my bread was not logged in ahead of time. Do you know your hub coordinator and the address for your donation? (That said, just for your FYI, indeed you can freeze the loaves and donate them for the next round if need be.) Good luck and if anything is unclear, feel free to follow up here.

            Thanks! M

I made 4 loaves for my first donation today (10/17) and I got on this morning to register the loaves to donate and it looks like I missed the window to register to donate? When does that close so I don’t miss it next time? Can I freeze these now for the next donation day? Or do I need to make new?
