We’re thrilled to share that Eye On Sun Valley had its eye on our Sun Valley Community Loaves bakers this week. Our dedicated bakers have been hard at work, deepening their support of food bank partner The Hunger Coalition. The Hunger Coalition provides hundreds of healthy snacks to local school children each week, but they struggle to have enough supply.
Attempting to answer the call, and using the Hunger Coalition’s program kitchen, six Community Loaves volunteers gathered for a “community bake” to bake 300 energy cookies to contribute to the Coalition’s efforts.
“While what we do helps with the local need at The Hunger Coalition, we always wish we could provide more,” said local baker and organizer Kathy Bell. “We’d love to have others come bake with us.” Program creator and Chief Bread and Cookie Officer, Katherine Kehrli reinforces. “There is a surprising amount of nutritious good we can do from our own home kitchens. Community Loaves makes it easy for people who love to bake, to truly bake the world a better place!”
